4. Quotes and Pricing
All quotes provided by Nuvolt Electrical Solutions are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing. Quotes are based on the information provided to us at the time of assessment and may be subject to change if:
- Site conditions differ from what was described or assessed during the initial consultation.
- Additional work is requested by the customer beyond the original scope.
- Unforeseen issues are discovered during the course of work, such as non-compliant existing wiring, asbestos, or structural issues.
- Supplier pricing changes for materials or equipment between the date of the quote and the date of acceptance.

5. Payment Terms
Payment terms are as follows unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Jobs under $20,000 (inc. GST):
- 50% deposit due upon acceptance of the quote, prior to scheduling and ordering of materials.
- 50% balance due on the day of completion, before our team leaves the site.
Jobs $20,000 and over (inc. GST):
- 50% deposit due upon acceptance of the quote, prior to scheduling and ordering of materials.
- 30% progress payment due upon delivery of materials to your property.
- 20% final payment due on the day of completion, before our team leaves the site.
Additional payment terms:
- No work without deposit: Work will not be scheduled and materials will not be ordered until the deposit has been received in full.
- Overdue Payments: Invoices not paid within 14 days of the due date may incur an administrative fee. We reserve the right to suspend or withhold services and to charge interest on overdue amounts at the rate of 10% per annum until outstanding amounts are settled.
- Invoice Disputes: Any dispute regarding an invoice must be raised in writing within 7 days of the invoice date.
- Payment Methods: We accept bank transfer, credit card, and other payment methods as communicated at the time of invoicing.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
No Refund Policy: All payments made to Nuvolt Electrical Solutions, including deposits and progress payments, are non-refundable. Upon acceptance of a quote and payment of the deposit, we immediately commit resources to your project, including scheduling labour, ordering materials, reserving equipment, liaising with suppliers, and preparing system designs. These costs are incurred on your behalf and cannot be recovered if you subsequently cancel.
If you wish to cancel after accepting a quote:
- Before materials are ordered: The deposit is retained to cover administration, scheduling, site assessment, and system design costs already incurred.
- After materials are ordered: All payments to date are retained. Solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other equipment are ordered specifically for your system configuration and may not be returnable to suppliers. You will remain liable for the full cost of materials ordered on your behalf.
- After work has commenced: All payments to date are retained and you will remain liable for the full contract amount for work completed and materials supplied.
Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We will accommodate reasonable rescheduling requests at no additional cost, subject to availability. Repeated rescheduling may incur an administrative fee.
Rescheduling by Nuvolt: We reserve the right to reschedule work due to weather conditions, supply delays, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We will notify you promptly and arrange an alternative date at no additional cost.
Note: This refund policy does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If we fail to provide services with due care and skill, or goods are faulty, your consumer guarantee rights apply regardless of this policy.
7. Variations and Additional Work
Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be approved by you in writing before we proceed. We will provide a written variation notice detailing the additional work required, the reason for the variation, and any change to the price or timeline. In the event of an emergency or safety issue discovered during work (for example, non-compliant wiring that poses an immediate risk), we may carry out urgent rectification work up to the value of $500 without prior written approval, and will notify you as soon as practicable.
8. Site Access and Your Obligations
You agree to:
- Provide safe and reasonable access to your property for our team to carry out the agreed work, including access to the switchboard, roof, and meter board where applicable.
- Ensure the work area is clear of obstructions and that any pets are secured during the service.
- Disclose any known hazards, including the presence or suspected presence of asbestos, lead paint, or other hazardous materials.
- Provide accurate information about your property, electrical system, and energy usage when requested.
- Obtain any necessary council permits or body corporate approvals required for the work, unless we have agreed to manage this on your behalf.
If our team is unable to access the site or commence work due to conditions not disclosed prior to the appointment, a call-out fee may apply.
9. Hazardous Materials
If asbestos or other hazardous materials are encountered during the course of work, we will stop work immediately and notify you. Nuvolt Electrical Solutions is not licensed to remove asbestos. Removal must be carried out by a licensed asbestos removalist before our work can resume. Any additional costs or delays arising from the discovery of hazardous materials are the responsibility of the property owner.
10. Warranties and Consumer Guarantees
Nuvolt Electrical Solutions stands behind the quality of our work. We provide the following warranty coverage:
- 10-Year Workmanship Warranty: All installations performed by Nuvolt are covered by a 10-year workmanship warranty from the date of completion. This exceeds the minimum 5-year requirement under our SAA accreditation and covers defects in installation and labour.
- Manufacturer Warranties: All products and equipment we supply are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Warranty periods vary by product (typically 10–25 years for solar panels, 5–12 years for inverters, and 10 years for batteries) and will be outlined in your project documentation. As your installer, we will manage warranty claims with manufacturers on your behalf.
Australian Consumer Law: Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with services, you are entitled to cancel the service contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion, or to seek compensation for the reduction in value of the services. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems rectified in a reasonable time. For major failures with goods, you are entitled to a replacement or refund. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modifications or tampering, interference by unlicensed persons, acts of nature (such as storm damage, flooding, or lightning strikes), normal wear and tear, or failure to maintain the system in accordance with our recommendations and the manufacturer's guidelines.
11. Defects Liability
If you identify a defect in our workmanship within the warranty period, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of becoming aware of the defect. We will inspect the defect and, where it is attributable to our workmanship, rectify it at no additional cost within a reasonable timeframe. Latent defects (those not reasonably identifiable at the time of completion) are covered under our workmanship warranty for the full warranty period.
12. Material Substitution
In the event that specified materials or equipment are unavailable, we may substitute equivalent or superior products of comparable quality and specification. We will notify you of any substitution before proceeding and obtain your approval. Any price difference will be passed on to you as an adjustment to the quoted price.
13. Roof Penetrations and Waterproofing
Solar panel and antenna installations typically require roof penetrations for mounting hardware. Nuvolt Electrical Solutions uses industry-standard mounting systems and waterproofing methods (including flashing, sealants, and proprietary roof attachments) designed to maintain the integrity of your roof. However:
- We warrant that all roof penetrations performed by us will be watertight for the duration of our 10-year workmanship warranty, provided the roof structure and sheeting were in sound condition at the time of installation.
- We are not liable for leaks or water ingress caused by pre-existing roof deterioration, rust, corroded sheeting, degraded sarking, or structural defects that were present prior to our work, whether or not these conditions were visible at the time of installation.
- If during our pre-installation assessment we identify that your roof is not in suitable condition for solar mounting, we will advise you in writing and may recommend repairs by a licensed roofer before proceeding. If you elect to proceed against our recommendation, you accept responsibility for any resulting water ingress.
- Any third-party interference with the mounting system, including removal, relocation, or modification of panels or brackets by anyone other than Nuvolt or our authorised representatives, will void our waterproofing warranty for the affected penetrations.
14. Solar System Performance and Energy Estimates
Any energy production estimates, savings projections, or payback period calculations provided by Nuvolt Electrical Solutions (whether in proposals, quotes, or verbal discussions) are indicative only and are not guarantees of actual performance. Actual solar energy output and financial savings depend on factors beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Weather patterns, cloud cover, temperature, and seasonal variations.
- Shading from trees, neighbouring structures, or future development that may occur after installation.
- Your household or business energy consumption patterns and changes in usage over time.
- Electricity retailer tariff structures, feed-in tariff rates, and changes to energy pricing by your retailer or the Queensland Government.
- Grid connection and export limitations imposed by your electricity distributor (such as Energex or Ergon Energy).
- Panel soiling, dust, bird droppings, or other environmental factors affecting panel efficiency.
We are not liable for any shortfall between estimated and actual energy production, savings, or feed-in tariff revenue. Solar panel performance warranties (covering minimum power output degradation over time) are provided by the panel manufacturer, not by Nuvolt, and are subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
15. Grid Connection and STC Assignment
For grid-connected solar installations:
- We will submit your grid connection application to your electricity distributor on your behalf. However, approval timelines are controlled by the distributor and we are not liable for delays in grid connection approval or activation.
- Export limitations may be imposed by your distributor based on network capacity in your area. These limitations are outside our control and may affect system performance and savings.
Assignment of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs):
- By accepting a quote from Nuvolt Electrical Solutions, you agree to assign all Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) generated by the installation to Nuvolt Electrical Solutions.
- The value of the STCs has already been applied as a point-of-sale discount on the quoted price. The quoted price you pay reflects this discount.
- You must sign the STC assignment form provided by Nuvolt at the time of installation. This form is required to complete the STC claim process.
- If you do not assign the STCs to Nuvolt Electrical Solutions, the full undiscounted price (before the STC discount was applied) becomes immediately payable.
- Nuvolt Electrical Solutions retains full ownership of all STCs generated by the installation until they are traded or redeemed.
16. Weather and Delays
Certain work, particularly rooftop solar installations, is weather-dependent. We reserve the right to postpone or reschedule work due to unsafe weather conditions, including rain, high winds, extreme heat, or electrical storms. A weather-related delay does not constitute a breach of these Terms, and we will work with you to reschedule at the earliest safe opportunity at no additional cost.
17. Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for any delay or failure to perform their obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure results from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, supply chain disruptions, industrial action, or utility failures. If a force majeure event continues for more than 90 days, either party may terminate the agreement by providing written notice to the other.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nuvolt Electrical Solutions' total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services is limited to the lesser of:
- The total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim; or
- The cost of having the services re-supplied.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, loss of energy production, or loss of solar feed-in tariff revenue, except where such liability cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
19. Insurance
Nuvolt Electrical Solutions holds public liability insurance to a minimum value of $20 million. A certificate of currency is available on request. We also hold professional indemnity insurance and workers' compensation insurance as required by Queensland law.
20. Subcontracting
We may engage licensed subcontractors to perform certain aspects of the work at our discretion. All subcontractors engaged by Nuvolt will hold the relevant licences and qualifications required under Queensland law. We remain responsible for the quality of all work performed by our subcontractors.
21. Photography and Marketing
We may photograph completed work for use in our marketing materials, website, and social media channels. Photographs will not identify you personally or include your street address unless you provide explicit written consent. If you do not wish your project to be photographed, please advise us before or during the service and we will respect your preference.
22. Intellectual Property
All content on the Nuvolt Electrical Solutions website, including text, images, logos, graphics, system designs, and reports, is the property of Nuvolt Electrical Solutions and is protected by Australian intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from our website without our prior written consent. System designs prepared for your project are provided for the purpose of that project only and may not be used by another installer.
23. Privacy
We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By engaging our services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in that policy.
24. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first so we can work together to resolve the matter. The following process applies:
- Step 1: Contact us in writing to outline your concern. We will endeavour to respond within 14 days and resolve the matter through good-faith discussion.
- Step 2: If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to participate in mediation conducted by an accredited mediator under the Resolution Institute of Australia rules, with the costs shared equally.
- Step 3: If mediation is unsuccessful, either party may pursue legal proceedings.
Nothing in this clause limits your right to lodge a complaint with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading, the Electrical Safety Office, or the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) at any time.
25. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia. Both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and any courts entitled to hear appeals from those courts.
26. General Provisions
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- Waiver: A failure by either party to exercise or enforce any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor or related entity.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any written contract and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nuvolt Electrical Solutions in relation to the services.
27. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated to you directly where we hold your contact details.
